LA ONCE

An integral aspect of Chilean culture is our adaptation of Tea Time, which we call "Once." This tradition has its roots in colonial times when gatherings involved drinking Aguardiente, a traditional distilled spirit. The term "once" (meaning "Eleven") was used as a clever code, representing the eleven letters in the word "Aguardiente."
Today, Once is a daily ritual where families come together to share a meal and engage in conversation. With this collection, I've designed individual vessels for the diverse foods commonly enjoyed during La Once. The set includes a teapot equipped with a coffee dripper for both tea and coffee, a milk vase, and an assortment of teacups and vessels.

Porcelain“La Once” encapsulates my own memories with family and friends in Chile, and it continues to facilitate the creation of new moments and relationships in every occasion they are used even when I am far from home.
