Raised in the vibrant city of Santiago, Chile, Laura Mochales is an artist and designer who found the creative calling that led her to the renowned Parsons School of Design. Graduating with Honors and Departmental Honors for the School of Constructed Environments, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Product Design, she honed her skills and embraced the limitless possibilities of various mediums. During her time at Parsons, Laura also served as a student technician, immersing herself in the metal shop and woodshop, refining her craftsmanship, and pushing the boundaries of her creativity.
Drawing inspiration from her diverse cultural background, Laura's artistry seamlessly weaves together elements of wood, steel, fine metals, stained glass, and ceramics. Her creations are a fusion of meticulous handwork, intricate details, and a profound appreciation for the beauty found in natural materials. Each piece tells a story, reflecting her Latin American heritage and inviting viewers into a world where craftsmanship and narrative converge.
